Adams was one of seven siblings that grew up as a young child in Castle Rock, Colorado. Her birth was during the time that her father was employed by the U.S. Military in Italy. The early 1990s were when Adams started dancing and performing professionally for Boulder's Dinner Theatre as well as the Country Dinner Playhouse. She then moved to Minnesota and was made a part of Drop Dead Gorgeous, a mock documentarian film about beauty contests. Then, in Los Angeles, she pursued acting as a profession following her film debut, in where she played an uneasy but fun contestant. Janet Leigh was married to Tony Curtis between June 1951 until September 1962. Her children include Kelly Curtis (and Jamie Lee Curtis) and Jamie Lee Curtis. She was discovered by actress Norma Shearer Leigh secured a contract with MGM and began her film career during the latter half of 1940s. She appeared in a range of cult films over the decade that followed, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (from 1960) as well as Living It Up (1954) which starred Martin Lewis.
